My Services

Initial Consultation

Your initial consultation lasts for two hours and is done in the warmth and comfort of your own home, in a relaxed yet professional manner.

During your consultation I will observe you and your dog, and the behavioural issues occurring in real time. We will discuss any concerns you have and I will provide you with a tailor made plan to resolve your issues.

Common Issues

I can help you build a relationship based on trust and engagement with your dog as we address some of the more common training issues such as:

  • impulse control

  • pulling on lead

  • excessive barking

  • poor obedience

We will approach the training with positive yet balanced techniques, based on a modern, scientific understanding of dog behaviour.

Approach & Philosophy

I take a balanced approach to training and behaviour modification. This means abiding by “LIMA” techniques:

Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive

It is a training philosophy and approach that prioritises the use of positive reinforcement and minimises the use of aversive techniques or punishment. The goal of LIMA is to train dogs in a humane and ethical manner, emphasising the importance of building trust, communication and cooperation between the dog and owner.

This approach focuses on creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience for the dog, while avoiding outdated training techniques based on force or fear.

Complex Issues

Some dogs and their owners have more complex issues often resulting in a breakdown of communication between human and dog. From breed-specific problems to nervousness that may been triggered by a traumatic event, there are ways of re-establishing the dog-owner bond.

Dealing with complex issues can take a lot of dedication from owners and I will be there to support you throughout. Issues dealt with:

  • dog - dog aggression

  • dog - human aggression

  • territorial aggression

  • fear aggression

  • resource guarding

  • noise sensitivity

  • generalised anxiety

  • travel anxiety

  • lack of socialisation

  • phobias

  • obsessive compulsive disorders
