About me

I am an experienced, accredited dog trainer and behaviourist. In addition to obedience training, I specialise in working with problems such as nervousness, reactivity, separation anxiety and aggression through a balanced approach.

Experience

I have owned rescue dogs most of my life. I currently have three dogs in my household:

  • 4 year old rescue Rocco, an extremely fear reactive Cockerpoo.

  • 3 year old Lhasa Apso, Munchkin, who was a lockdown puppy

  • 5 month old rescue Dobermann cross, Freya, from a litter brought into the dog sanctuary where I work.

My area of expertise around problem behaviour arises from three years of experience at a no-kill dog sanctuary as a proud member of a small team dealing with behaviour modification and rehabilitiation of the dogs in our care. It’s such a rewarding job and has given me plenty of experience handling various breeds and problems such a as:

  • dog to dog reactivity and aggression

  • Dog to human aggression

  • anxiety, nervousness, fear and separation anxiety

  • resource guarding.

as well as other problem behaviours and training needs, such as loose lead walking, general obedience training and excessive barking.

Qualifications

  • Understanding Canine Anxiety

  • Canine Body Language
